About Us
Pastor Steve & Cathy met in a church in Wapakoneta in 1982. Steve resided in Spencerville while Cathy had just moved from Chicago & they were married in that same year .
Steve was called to preach in 1983 then to Pastor in 1985.
Their services began in a mobile home then moved to a storefront building in Wapakoneta where Living Faith Ministries was established.
Still growing, a church building opened in Spencerville where they remained until God provided their current location 29 years ago. God has been faithful, having them involved in prison, nursing home, & even had a food pantry at one time through their years of serving Him.
Sister Cathy has been in children’s ministry from the beginning, but believes her most important role has been to support Pastor Steve in any capacity she could as God led him.
Along with the ministry they have raised three children & have four grandchildren & a great granddaughter.
Steve has a heart to Pastor & makes himself available to talk or pray as the need arises day or night. He loves ministering the word & wants the Holy Spirit to be in control throughout all of our services.
This has only been possible with others God has sent to do the work of the ministry alongside them.
Assistant Pastor Larry & Carey McCollum have been a real blessing & do so much to keep things running smoothly around here, especially when Pastor Steve & Sister Cathy have other obligations.
Pastor Larry is very effective preaching & teaching us our position in Christ & how to be led by the Spirit in our everyday lives.
Carey is a great help recording our services & helping Sister Cathy with so many other responsibilities in the church including teaching children when the need arises.
Music Ministry is a vital part of every service.
Our selection of music covers a vast array of Southern Gospel, Contemporary, & Traditional Hymns.
Missy Hensley is our song leader & endeavors to include something to reach each generation in the church body.
She loves to lead us into praise & worship playing piano, using CD's, & sings using music from YouTube videos as well.
All of our services flow as the Holy Spirit leads.
We have a Sunday School Class taught by Sister Cathy for ages 5-10 at this time.
Along with her lesson plan, she uses activities which can include word searches, puzzles, crafts, games & occasionally takes children outside on the property to help use ideas from nature to help them learn.
Pastor Larry teaches ages 11 & up in the main sanctuary together.
We have a mothers room for infants-4 year olds, where mothers can still watch the service, while tending their children. A dressing table along with our two restrooms are right outside that room so they can be used easily by the children.
Our Vision…
is to emphasize the importance of maintaining a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, which through the Spirit empowers us to walk in victory over sin or any situation of our lives being equipped by the word of God & the work He secured on the cross for us.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
— John 3:16-17

(John 1:1-4, Eph 2:13-18, Rev 19-20)
In the blessed hope–the rapture of the Church at Christ’s coming. (1 Thes 4:13-18)
